Bark Dudes
I always wanted to make these. I found some bark on the ground at work and was gifted some tools.
I created these in the same traditions as all peoples who came before me, with great respect for nature, and as a request for protection and safe passage.
All traditional dudes are made from foraged Cottonwood bark. Finished with linseed or tung oil.

Hand carved Monuments
Series I
I create these for my sons, partner and all those I love. The loop is a symbol of forever and it is hand-carved into bark which is a natural protector. Each carving is one of a kind as are the stone foundations on which it is presented.
I really enjoy the juxtaposition between the hand carved warmth of the bark and the cold hard machine carved stone
For me, these are monuments to our dreams, to our promises to love and support and a beautiful symbol of forever.
Series I featured below.
Limited series of 60.
All pieces are numbered.
Carvings are approximately 10×10×15cms and created from foraged Alberta Cottonwood bark and locally discarded geology samples. Various finishes are applied.
$40-$65

Series II
Paintings
I started painting again after finding raw canvas, stretched canvases and other rigid structures like old drawers and shipping crates at my job. All destined for the trash. I took it as a sign.
I paint because I love expression through colour and form. I paint because I find things my brain wants to turn into other things. And because I take lots of pictures and have lots of ideas that need places to go... while listening to hours of Radiohead. No good reason. Lots of small ones. Just have too. Balance I guess. Thanks for helping me figure this out.

Beer label assemblages
Please enjoy my Beer label assemblages or BLA's. I truly hope you enjoy their simple whimsy as much as I enjoyed assembling them. (And drinking the beer). These actually helped me smile again after a very dark period of my life. I didnt have a lot, but these helped me see what was important and that I had everything I needed.
Works are framed in 8×10's matted to 5×7 unless noted otherwise.
